How do you claim a legacy of empowerment when 1.2 billion women can't hear it in their own language?
In 1971, L’Oréal launched four words that redefined modern womanhood: "Because I’m worth it." Yet, for five decades, this manifesto remained culturally distant, existing in only 40 languages. For over 1.2 billion women, the message was audible, but the meaning was lost in translation.
To break this barrier, we moved away from world-famous ambassadors and celebrity faces to listen to the women themselves. We traveled across the globe to ask them what "worth" meant in their own culture and dialect. By sourcing and elevating these local expressions from over 1,200 languages, we turned a Western-centric brand statement into a collective, multilingual roar.
